Clinical Care Team Job Description

Our Family Vet is a busy veterinary practice that has served the Bullard, Jacksonville, and Tyler area for over 20 years. Our Family Vet is looking for a Veterinary Technician to join our team.

We use our technicians to their full potential and training is provided to increase technical skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Checks patient medical records for past histories, enters in computer and files.
• Takes medical histories and vital signs of patients.
• Maintains client educational material and knowledgably communicates this information to clients.
• Prepping animals for exams.
• Administering medication and treatments as ordered by veterinarian.
• Properly restrains and monitors animals.
• Prepping and taking xrays.
• Collects and performs diagnostic testing such as drawing blood, fecals, snap tests.
• Assist doctor with exams, treatments, and client education.
• Maintains cleanliness of the facility and equipment.
• Teamwork with other departments.
• Using and maintaining lab equipment.

Qualifications:

• Strong Communication skills, compassion, listening skills and must be able to read and write.
• High standards of customer service.
• Physical stamina to stand, bend, stoop, twist for increased amounts of time.
• Lift up to 40lbs and up to 100lbs with assistance.
• Critical thinking, problem solving/decision making, time management and organization skills.
